Shree Mahalaxmi Temple at 70, Diamond Harbor Road, Kolkata is unique temple of its kind. The temple faces the East direction (Purab Mukhi) to get Sun rays in the morning through its main entrance. Project is designed by local experienced Architect Company; M/s. Senon & Sen. Temple details are designed elaborately by well known professional temple Architect from Mumbai Architect Subhash Govind Bhoite; who has designed more than 125 temples in India and abroad. This temple is designed in accordance with principles of Hindu Vastu Shastra and is in harmony with the traditional Indian Temple Architecture of Western India. A Vastu consultant Mr. Parthasarthi from Bangalore was appointed specially to see Vastu Shastra of complete project.

The planning of the Temple-Vastu is based on Sayanam Posture, and is analogous to Human body. It is designed in five main parts. 1. Mahadwar (Main Gate- Feet). Devotees enter in the Temple from feet of the temple Vastu. Main Gate with profile of half round top (Kaman) and steel main safety gate with symbolic design of Lotus flower and two nos. of elephants in welcoming poster. Pointed Trishul fixed to steel gate and compound wall grill. 2. Entrance Porch: Its huge size with wide opening and   - height shows its great power while welcoming all devotees of the temple. 3. Sabha Mandap (Prayer Hall) is designed to give sufficient volume of space to accommodate maximum nos. of devotees. Columns are decorated with traditional arches, solid base and Elephant headed brackets to show their strength. Side walls are limited to allow/ accommodate more devotees at time of Pooja and Festivals. Design of precious Agra stone work is done with yellow stones of Jasermer in temple flooring by special skilled workers, called from Agra to do this work.  4. Antarala (Place for other Deities and Pujaries). Two divine almighty Gods Ganeshji and Hanumanji are housed in beautifully carved in white marble in Lotus flower shaped wall mounted platforms (Gokhalas). Ganeshji (Mangal Murti) is always worshiped in the beginning of all Pooja. Hanumanji, deity of devotion (Bhakti) and strength (Health) is with his tremendous power to guard the temple. 5. Garbhagriha: Head of the Temple Vastu. It is designed as per Nakshatra at east direction. Walls with carved marble cladding from outside and silver lining from in side give rich and spiritual effect to Garbhagriha. A beautiful statue of Shree Mahalaxmi is in standing posture over Lotus flower is blessing to all devotees. Statue is specially carved by Murti Bhandar of Jaipur in pure white Makrana Pahadkuwa Marble.  Decorative false ceiling with coloures beautifies temple interior. Arrangement of keeping shoes and washing hand is done. One Fire place (Agnishala) structure is attached to the temple for offering food to Fire God (Agni).  

Basic structure of the temple building is constructed in RCC. Satna stone cladding is done to give all the forms and shapes to exterior of the temple. Satna stone work is done by experienced artisans who have executed similar type of works. Main Shikhar of 76 feet height with Satna stone carving work is above the Garbhagriha. Pyramid shaped Shikhar (Samran) is above the Sabha Griha. RCC and brick work is executed by M/s. Shapurji Company. Temple is become brighter with effects given by Philips Company. Two 100 feet high light poles are fixed to lighten the temple and surrounding area.
